Betweemn 70,000 and 100,000 Irishmen from the Irish Free State joined the British Army in WWII to fight the Nazis.

Éamon deValera did send condolences to Germany when he heard that Hitler had died. 🙄
But then, he's the son of a bitch who ordered the assassination of Michael Collins.

De Valera signed the condolence book at the German Embassy. They already knew about the death camps by then. I understand, however, that recent research indicates that Ireland did more to help the Allies than was previously thought.
