I can't describe myself as a particularly knowledgeable WW2 gamer but our current project – Market Garden – has me assembling Late War German forces (specifically, II SS Panzer).

Amongst other novelties is the The Steyr 1500A heavy car – a vehicle I'll confess I'd not heard of. I have two – one as a staff car for HQ and another to tow a 20mm Flak gun.

They look a trifle odd in a battle setting. What can you tell me about them?

I think the 1500A/02 (external spare wheel) looks much neater than the 1500A/01 (internal spare wheel). They made about 18,000 total, so not quite the novelty it may seem at first. They were part of the German standard cars that struggled to be standard.
