One more time.

Does anyone still play this? I picked up a couple of the pre-painted sets for next to nothing and was wondering what the heck I can do with them.

I have the starter set and planes….haven't seen the light of days in a decade….

Most of the aircraft are available as STLs. The aircraft and the background attracted me back in the day, but the game mechanics were a buzz kill. Pretty much Renegade Legion reworked into an aircraft game with similar template damage templates, etc.

Also seem to remember that somewhere someone had reworded the aircraft into Wings of Glory format, but that too was a long long time ago.

There was the FASA version and the WizKids version. I had the latter, which tried to combine air combat with 32mm skirmish on game mats. Got rid of everything ages ago, except for the mats.

BTW the Xbox video game it was based on was dang tough!

I have a few of both versions of the game but have never played them

Iron Wind Metals still makes the FASA pewter version of the Crimson Skies minis. Not sure where to get rules though.

We've occasionally still played the original "Crimson Skies". 20+ years ago our CA game group played regularly as part of an episodic campaign.

I use 3d printed CS STL as my Aircraft for 'Inter-War' ImgiNations.

You know, we really need a whole series of generic F&SF rules for troops and vehicles left orphaned when someone's copyrighted dream goes under. Presumably the Tekumel stuff can be used with HOTT or DRAGON RAMPANT, but CRIMSON SKIES? And wasn't there some CASTLE FALKENSTEIN stuff at one point?

I'm dinking around with two homebrew skirmish/RPG sets to absorb stray 28mm F&SF figures, and I may really need three.
