I have plenty of cowboys, and many of their figures are "characters" which I'd not want/need more than one of, so an stl file ($4 for a single mini on foot) is only useful as opposed to their casting/printing it, in terms of ease (instant download). HOWEVER, I am now using three sets of their stl files: dead horses (saddled); standing horses (saddled, for my dismounted Texans); and buffalo (four different, running). All of these are useful in large n=umbers; I can now dismount a whole company of Texans and have the horses nearby which were often the main target for the Comanche raiders. And when a mount goes down and the rider survives we have the dead horse to hide behind. And I have 40 bison in my herd. THOSE are the sorts of minis that really reward having a 3d printer. KD has a set of longhorns but they are walking instead of stampeding. I'll probably get them eventually but a least the front of the herd needs to be running. |

Doc, I agree their regular priced sets are overpriced for the market. (That may be what it the cost was to get those created.) The ones that are on sale are much more reasonable. Good call on the animal STL's. I will have to pick them up when I get back to working on my western stuff. |
