It is always fascinating when you are able to see such history for yourself.especially when outside and not in a museum. I was able to examine two cannon balls at my EMA position about two decades ago. The private owner had found them when the foundation for a hospital foundation was being dug. They turned out to be from the War of 1812 when A wing of Jackson's force camped here in order to subdue Creek Muskogee villages in the area. |

I know few weapons details of the period. Were solid bronze cannonballs common? Were they cheaper or somehow more effective? |

My brother was working on an Olympic's site in London when he looked down & saw two, small discs. They were coins: Roman coins from Constantine the Great's two sons. He was told by the site supervisor to put them in his pocket & tell no-one because they were behind schedule & didn't need an archaeological survey. He later gave me them. They're beautiful & in mint condition. I do wonder what, if anything, now lies under that stadium? |
