Can I print multi colors without an AMS? I know of course I can print one color overtop another but what about print two colors in an integrated manor. Let's say I want to print a ghost in white but have the eyes entirely black? Or a token with numbers that are flesh with the surface? TIA |

That is what the AMS is for. I suppose you could hack the slicing software to do it. Then manually swap the filament for color changes. But that would be a lot of work. Better to use the AMS. |

Regarding the original question, nope. If this question happens to be related to the cost of the AMS for the A1 mini, yes, it is expensive. I bought my A1 mini when they were selling it for $150 USD USD shipped. I didn't want to almost double the price just to be able to print with up to 4 colors which I personally am unlikely to use much. I did recently purchase a Kobra X though which has an Anycubic implementation of a 4 color changer integrated for under $250 USD total shipped. I haven't used it yet though so I can't comment on the quality. In general, the Bambu products have excellent build quality. Anycubic has a mixed history. |
