We all have bad habits, maybe it's knocking over paint or buying to many figures? It's nice for all when we kick the habit, but it can be tough, and relapses can occur. News years resolutions can certainly help. But sometimes it takes a gentle and friendly prompt to set us back on the right track. Do you have a wargaming habit you are struggling to kick? |

My problem is that I keep buying unpainted armies telling myself that I can/will get around to actually painting them. I always buy entire armies because if I need Bavarians for a game, I might as well have an entire army to choose from! |

The "one more unit" syndrome. I have more of then enough troops to fill the table shoulder to shoulder, yet I buy that "one more unit" that fits the my irrational need to complete the army with a unit that may be needed in some future game. |

Overcommitting to game prep. I always think I'll have more time to paint and craft for the next convention than I do. 4-6 months sounds like plenty of time for huge projects, but then Real Life™ gets in the way a lot more than I expected. Why don't I expect it? I've been doing this for over 30 years, you'd think I'd be better at the project estimates by now. - Ix |

I'm with Col Durnford: One more unit, or maybe even one or two more figures. Yes, I have a need to be able to field everything that could possibly have been available. I have a perfectly reasonable WWII Greek army. The Greeks weren't big on equipment. At the beginning, they had two Vickers light tanks, one with two machine gun turrets and a second one with a low velocity 4 pounder gun. As an old logistics guy, I'm inclined to question whether even one of these was functional, since the war didn't start until several years after the tanks were delivered. In any case, they are statistically insignificant. However, I have them. Both of them: the entire Greek tank force modeled in miniature. But now at least, I'm done with Greek tanks, right? Think again! The Vickers light tank had poor ventilation. Vickers knew it. The countries who bought the tanks knew it. Some countries modified their tanks to have better ventilation. Did the Greeks? I don't know, but I'm thinking I may need to buy a second four pounder gun tank without the upgraded vents, so I am covered whichever way I happen to believe the Greek tanks were fitted out on a particular day. The Greeks had several different models of 75mm guns, and I don't have all of them. Only two different models. There were at least three more models. If somebody should bring out one I don't have, I suspect I would discover a sudden need to purchase it. Grelber |

Thanks. Well, I'm not shy Australian. I kept buying figures and armies for painting examples and tests. But assembly is time, so many sit in boxes. I think I've kicked that one. |
