Archeologists assert claim there's a second Sphinx buried in the sand at Giza. link Would make sense, if true. |

An old story, as old as the Sphinx itself. |

And on top of that, I entirely reject the idea of Ancient Aliens building them. They were competent engineers who knew what they were doing. Didn't need no stinking aliens! Just because "we" don't know how they did it, doesn't mean they couldn't. So what if mathematics was a holy secret, and not passed down to us? |

I'm not so sure about digging it up. Some crazy jihadist would want to blow it up, because it's blasphemous. Taliban in Afghanistan, anyone? Let's keep it hidden and mysterious, lest some British diplomat would want to steal it. |

Some crazy jihadist would want to blow it up Probably true but at least some French dude is unlikely to shoot the nose off. |

But, the Sphinx is definitely older than we think. The Pharoah's head is clearly not the original one. |

MUCH more likely than the myth of Napoleon's men doing it. |

I've been told many things by experts. Let me know when the dig it up. Until then, it barely rates as opinion. |

Some archaeologists think the Sphinx is far older than originally thought, citing what they believe to be evidence of rain erosion. This would place the Sphinx in the "Green Sahara" period, dating between 11,000 BCE and 5,000 BCE. |
