A number of accounts of the battles emphasize the Mexicans fighting with rusted muskets and machetes. The Zacapoaxtlas and Xochiapulcas were indigenous mountain-dwellers from the Sierra de Puebla, whose normal fighting style was close quarter combat with the machete. They fought during the second and third French assaults. Did their unique fighting style play the psychological breaking point for the elite French Zouaves? How would you represent that in the rules? |

I don't see why they would be viewed any differently than all of the other indigenous people who used hand weapons during this time period. |
