My videos are flooded with stupid idiotic AI captions that clearly do not understand the English language, or context. How do I turn them off? Is there something in Settings on my iPhone? Since we now have this Board, I may as well do something with it. 😤 I don't fear Iran. I don't fear Russia. I don't even fear He Who Must Not Be Mentioned (lest I end up in the DH.) But I do fear AI and its megalomaniac creators and acolytes. Please help me negate to a tiny extent its influence. I can't even watch and listen to Southern Cross or Desperado without seeing an illiterate AI caption. |

Yes, I have that also. On Facebook you can zap particular items and it will gradually accommodate the feed to your tastes. Not a perfect solution but a start. BUt this is an important point about AI, and both the promise and the danger: the more you interact with it, the more it "knows" you and the more it can tell you what it thinks you want to know. Hopefully not what it decides you NEED to know -- but that is the worrisome part. |

Here's the real question: Facebook does the same thing with its reels – low quality captions created in some unknown process. But if you are making videos, Facebook gives you the option to upload your own captions too. The best way to make captions is to run the video through AI. The result is almost perfect, just needs the occasional edit. So – if AI can make nearly perfect captions already, why are the captions on Youtube and Facebook so bad? Are they using outdated AI technology when better is available? |

Sometimes (very often) I get two sets of captions. The one that comes with the video, and another one, grammatically ignorant, and worse spelled, that is in bigger font. This one just started up. It sits right on top of the original captions, at twice the size. I hate and despise EVERYTHING about AI. |

…if AI can make nearly perfect captions already… 🙄 Seriously? Or is that sarcasm and satire? Why do YOU refuse to accept the results of the poll? Why even bother with polls, if you're going to simply ignore the overwhelming rejection? |
