I am planning to run a 20mm Tarawa game using the Scenic Effects Tarawa terrain set. I'm no good at rules writing, so I'd prefer to use an off the self rules set. What rules cover landing craft, pillboxes and naval barrages, without getting bogged down with endless charts and tables? Would Bolt Action work? |

What part of the battle are you thinking of doing? The fighting went for 2.5 days with a Banzai charge on the 2nd night. It was pretty much the entire 2nd Marine Division. Wolfhag |

Hi Wolfhag, I saw your post regarding your 20mm game. Awesome stuff! Like I said, I'm not good at coming up with my own rules. I am visualizing playing only the first day, with lots of landing craft and LVT action up to the Marines getting a foothold on the island. Are you still in Contra Costa Co.? I'm in South San Francisco. Do you still have your Tarawa setup? |

Nick, we ran a Tarawa game back in the 90's. We used the Crossfire rules. We ran it as a multi-player game and it was a challenge. But generally it ran well and was historical, a very bloody affair. |

I'll throw Fireball Forward into the pot. We played a few of the scenarios from the Guadalcanal book. Should cover all the things you need. |
