"Copying I want to quote from a book/magazine article/website. Is there a limit to how much I can quote? Yes. In order to respect possible copyright issues, please quote no more than three paragraphs. [COPYRIGHT RULE]" Go to the TMP FAQ. Under 4, The Forums. Scroll down towards the bottom. Not only are you violating copyright when you go on and on and on, you are also rendering your VERY IMPORTANT CONTENT less likely to be read. MEGO. Mine eyes glaze over. Weren't you ever docked for this in college? Does "plagiarism" ring a bell? Everyone from Pascal to Mark Twain to Hubert Humphrey is credited with the following. "I apologize for writing such a long letter. I didn't have time to write a short one." It would be nice to see Dear Editor enforce this. After all, it is a rule. |

As your Professor would have said as he gave you bad marks, "I already know what XXXXX said. What do YOU have to say?" When I see a post that goes on forever, I don't even bother to scan it. |

Your post is extremely scurrilous, and I agree with it totally. |

Yes. enough. Most people don't read the quotes anyway. Just give me your opinion. If I ask you to show me the evidence for what you say then you can quote me something. But again, enough with the quotes! |

I believe there's an inherent 'free speech' aspect that lets posters post as much as they want. But I don't have to read it. And then, if I deem a poster habitually long winded, repetitive &/or incoherent, not to mention inflammatory, then there's the stifle option. Lots of solutions. |

And, there is also a RULE in the FAQ. |
