Blog post …. This is a detailed analysis of the data from the BHGS and ADLG rankings. It is a structured analysis using database techniques to correct the data (where possible) and tackle the quirks of the two data sets. It would also be interesting to learn how many copies of ADLG have been published. This would give you an idea what percentage of ADLG gamers like to take part in tournaments. Number of copies sold would be a better figure, but harder to obtain, I would think. Grelber |

Ownership of the rules doesn't prove anything. The average gamer, probably has numerous rules on the bookshelf that they never play. |

Jim: ADLG= Art de la Guerre (The Art of War). Mainly Ancients and now there is a Napoleonic version. My gaming group (Colorado Military Historians) it is most popular and lots of Tournaments are well attended. Most of the games are played in 15mm. |

Jim: ADLG= Art de la Guerre (The Art of War). Mainly Ancients and now there is a Napoleonic version. My gaming group (Colorado Military Historians) it is most popular and lots of Tournaments are well attended. Most of the games are played in 15mm. Both rules sets are printed in hardback and may seem quite pricy but once one actually read and play the rules, those that have play the heck out of them so I reckon the price could be worth ti. I own both but I discovered that I just cannot get into ancients no matter how good the rules and Naps are closer to my periods (League of Augsberg, WSS, SYW, WAS- or "Anything in a Tricorn" I can be hooked into! I first saw then when stationed in Germany sometime between 2010-17 at Crisis and several regional cons and everyone I saw underway-everyone were deeply involved and seemed to be enjoying them. |
