As Winter goes into False Spring and then Mud Season, it's time announce the information for the Society of Daisy's annual show, OttoDotCon (formerly, The Weekend)
Returning to our usual venue at the Comfort Suites Hotel on South Hanover Street in downtown Carlisle, PA, we're a small convention run by gamers for gamers.
It's like a big game weekend at someone's house, except you're not tripping over the family pet and there's multiple games going on. We have two game blocks during the day and open tables at night.
Cost is still $30 USD USD for the whole weekend of $20 USD USD for the day.
The room block rate is $129.15 USD per night (not sure why the extra fifteen cents…) and you can call the hotel at 717-960-1000 EXT 0 and specify you are coming for "OttoDotCon".
Our theme this year, which no one ever pays attention to, is "South of the Border".
Think of it! Aztecs! Filibusters! Spaghetti Westerns!
Aztecs and Filibuster fighting in a Spaghetti Western!
And notice, we didn't say which border! So there's plenty of scope for "reiving and retrieving" cattle or sheep or whatever quadrupeds that need reallocation.
Or maybe some Fenians searching for a new pub get lost…
Walt Leach has agreed to host an ADLG tournament.
So, if you want to host a game, please contact me at epturner29 AT aol DOT com and we will add you into the mix.
But don't just come to run a game. Bring your friends and come and play, too. Miniatures and board games are welcome.
Military Science Theater 2000 may or may not happen, based on the availability of the Projector Operator (that's also me) but if it does, I can assure you, we have two real dogs of Public Domain films to cause harm to your internal organs.
We still don't have a website or a FB page or Tickety Toks (yes, Jim Shaw, I AM working on that…) nor do we have crazy computer assisted pre-registration. We're still very much Old (emphasis there) School.
Feel free to reach out to myself (address above) or our Grand Poobah, Tracy Johnson at saxenviolets AT gmail DOT com with questions, concerns, or slings and arrows of outrageous fortune…
Hope you can join us in Carlisle.
Eric
