Being ill with hands too shaky to paint anything requiring much precision, I dug out these huts I got from one of the Forged in Battle kickstarters years ago and painted them up. |

Nicely done and progress made despite the plot to derail you! |

Gotta drag out my dead horse for another beat-down… Get some dark walnut urethane-stain (Minwax or other local brand), mix it thoroughly, then brush it on with a disposable brush. It produces results as shown in your roof photos. You can be quite sloppy in application -- it won't matter. After it dries completely, spray it with matte clear coat to dull it. Works superbly on textures like those roofs! Cheers! PS: Simple block painting on mini's, followed by a brush-on application of the same urethane stain, will produce decent mini's for gaming, as well! It's not just for breakfast anymore, Kids! Here are some mounted knight examples; here are some Cyclops with crude block painting and Dip freshly brushed on, and matted and based -- their transformation is amazing… Sloppy painting can be dressed up nicely. On the tabletop, at arm's length or farther, they look very good. Double Cheers! |

As said, I've already painted these – how else could I post the photo? – so why are you trying to advise me on how to paint them? |

i am offering advice on future projects, ways to mitigate your challenges in painting. Cheers! |

Ah, OK. I ought then clarify that this is (almost certainly) a temporary illness, and manual dexterity should be back to normal within a few days. |

Glad to hear that! I know we are all progressing in years, and our bodies and abilities are ever changing. I expect my painting methods will maintain my normal quality levels, such as they are, even if my eyes and hands degrade. I expect to continue painting at my chosen level until my end arrives. ;-) I refuse to give up just because my vision and my motor skills decline. Hoping to help others keep on keeping on. Cheers! |

Thanks. I'm not getting any younger, but ageing impacting my painting should hopefully be a good while in the future yet. |
