Is there a significant difference between the 1st and 2nd edition? I'm thinking about doing some casual gaming with my daughter, who is a LOTR fan. I know that I can pick up a 1st ed rulebook for a whole lot less money than a 2nd edition one. Thoughts?

There are now 3 editions. You want the blue book from 2005. Best version of the game.

Is it the one with the ring on it?

Yep! Some of my favorite games I've ever played have been using that rulebook. My copy is tattered but I will never throw it away

The current version has movie pictures inside a ring of elven script
