"I played my first game of Frostgrave last night. It's a fantasy skirmish game in which you play a magician, their apprentice and a merry band of hangers-on venturing into a lost city in search of treasure. Whilst the city has dangers of its own, the biggest problem is thta other magicians also have the same idea as you…"

Nice description. Frostgrave has been on my list of things to buy or at least try out for several years now but never seems to make it up to where I actually spend money on it.

While I'm more into the sci-fi version, Stargrave, the game is a well designed system that supports both two player, small team, and even solo play (you do need a deep bench of NPC figures, though).

You really only need 10-15 figures per person and the scenario books offer considerable additions to the basic game of "smash and grab loot before your opponent does."

It's not a big buy in, and their purpose made figure sets are awesome deals, and parts can be swapped through ALL the sets to make just about any type of humanoid figure you can think of. The only drawback is they are true 25mm-hence smaller than most modern sci-fi miniatures on the market (such as Maelstrom's Edge, 40K, Black-Out, etc…)

The only drawback is they are true 25mm

Which also makes them attractive for use with older sci-fi miniatures!
