Please, could you give me some information about the following units (1792-1797): - Münster Dragoon Regiment Von Nagel (uniforms and flags) - Würzburg Infantry Regiment (uniforms and flags) - Nassau-Weilburg Infantry Regiment (uniforms and flags) The information I have found about them is confusing and contradictory. |

For Munster see link A cavalry regiment had only 6 companies, each with a strength of about 40 men. However, only a small part of them were mounted. link "This uniform consists of a white coat with red standing collar, and red Swedish lapels with six white small raised buttons set into two on each side, on the right side in addition to the two other such buttons are set out at the front, white lining with silver armpit band, paillie waistcoats and trousers. The surtout is dark blue, and red round lapels, the same collar and lining, large white smooth buttons, together with a paillie waistcoat and breeches. The hat has a wide curved silver braid, silver agraffe, the corresponding cordon and plume of feathers to this uniform is worn like a black neckband" No details on whether they had any standard. Nassau-Weilburg Infantry Regiment – sorry only information for 1803 onwards. No known standard before 1806. Osprey image for 1806 (2nd & 3rd battalions made up the Regiment).

Wurzburg – from "Armies of Bavaria and Wurzburg 1792-1815" by George F. Nafziger "In 1795, the Wurzburg infantry wore bicorns that were trimmed with black lace, blue coats with red collars, cuffs & turnbacks, white buttons and white under cloths. They wore black gaiters over their black shoes. In 1801 the infantry changed the colour of their coats to white. The coats were cut in Austrian style. The first battalion wore red facings, the second wore blue and the third green. The grenadiers wore Austrian style bearskin caps and the fusiliers wore black Austrian helmets with a black combe and crest, decorated with brass metal fittings and trim. The belts and breeches were white, while the gaiters were black." No details of any standard. |
