How would you like to be an Iranian Yak-130 or Mig-29 pilot and be told that you need to fly CAP over the capital by yourself? As soon as you're rolling down the runway an AWACS picks you up and starts vectoring in aircraft to your position. F-35s and F-22s have such massive advantages that an opponent basically has no chance whatsoever.

How would you like to be an Iranian Yak-130 or Mig-29 pilot and be told that you need to fly CAP over the capital by yourself? I wouldn't be happy about it, but I didn't grow up in a culture that emphasizes martyrdom like Shia Islam does.

I've been surprised to see claims that the Arab states have shot down Iranian jets. Not clear how far out the jets were shot down, but presumably they were on bombing runs against Arab territory.
