Dear Valued Customer, We would like to inform you that, due to the current geopolitical situation in the Middle East, we are temporarily suspending the sending and receiving of packages to and from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, and Switzerland until further notice. Please note that this suspension does not apply to shipments to and from Australia and New Zealand, which continue to operate as usual. We kindly ask that you contact us prior to sending any packages to avoid any inconvenience. If you have any questions or further clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Best regards, Fernando Enterprises miniaturelovers@gmail.com info@miniaturelovers.com |

Curious as to why Aus and NZ are not affected? |

Could be the route the packages take means that the ones suspended go via the middle east and the ones form Aus and NZ go a more direct route? |

While kiltboy may be correct, one wonders why more of Europe was not included. And since the world is round, packages can go east from Sri Lanka across the Pacific to the US and then even across the Atlantic to Europe. Jim |

I'm guessing the countries that get a mention is probably driven by where they have customers. Why is more the question as I've seen nothing suggesting any international postage has been disrupted, other than to those countries under attack. |

Air freight routes that postal services use are those that are most economical, covered by contracts and in regular use. Switching to alternatives would drive up costs considerably and general postal services operate at fixed prices making it difficult to absorb those increases. |

I have seen a couple of news articles talking about flight disruptions in the region, so at least part of the puzzle is probably the cuts/disruptions to airmail and courier availability. Fernando has been in business for a long time. I personally have met the man years ago at Historicon, and have sent thousands of miniatures to be painted by his service. Either (1) he has made a business decision that air delivery is too risky at the moment (for whatever reason), or else (2) he is taking some sort of principled stand because of the new war. Given the past twenty years of war in the region and the exact countries involved I highly doubt it is #2, and I think Fernando as a businessman has more than earned the benefit of the doubt as to #1. I am curious also as to what exactly gave him pause—heck, it could be that he fears workers at the post office will damage parcels with those countries' addresses on them, for all we know. |

Situation has changed a bit. we received 3 parcels received at Aremex depot in Dubai today. And they told me to go ahead and ask customers to use Aremex service. We remain hopeful that standard postal services will stabilize soon, but in the meantime, Aramex is our most reliable path forward. if you have a shipment please email us. Please donot send any parcels without informing us.Please note we have no problem in sending packages through DHL to any part of the world. emails;info@miniaturelovers.com , figures@sltnet.lk |
