Hi all, I'm looking for 28mm minis to recreate some battles from the Wind and the Lion. Any idea where to find Marines in the blue uniform with peaked cap? |

Try Old Glory, it might be what you're looking for. link |

There is also a pack with the Montana type hat under their China great powers line. |

Try also Pulp Figures for Marines and Sailors and Civilians that could be used in Wind and the Lion scenarios. |

The Pulp Figures Marines are in their "American Adventures Abroad" line -- link I have them and they are equipped with bolt action rifles, Tommy guns, and BARs. Highly recommended!! Jim |

And going back and reading Lascaris' original post, I do not believe the Pulp Figures Marines are in the proper uniform, although they are great sculpts. Jim |

In the Wind and the Lion there are 2 scenes with the Marines – one in their blues (attack on the palace) and one in fatigues with slouch hats not Montana (final battle). US Sailors in undress white service uniform (attack on the palace) – as done by Pulp Figures. |

Several years ago I thought about doing the Wind and the Lion as a wargame. I never got around to it but I did do some research as to which figures I could use for the Americans, the Sultan's forces, and the Germans. Here is what I came up with: US Marines: link German cavalry: TMP link And link German gun: The KF16 Gun is either Brigade Games or Tiger Miniatures, and the crew are Old Glory Boxer line German Sea Battalion simple conversions. Raisuli: link Berber Cavalry: 1898 Miniatures: link |
