Interesting to see that Carl Peters, who played a major role in establishing the German colonies in Africa in the 1880s had an auxiliary vessel named after him. I see there was also a Tsingtau, named after the former German concession port in China, pre-World War I. Maybe we should be paying a bit more attention to German ideas of re-establishing their colonial empire if they won WWII. Grelber |
