I'm no expert in the AWI – was lack of available mounts the reason there were comparatively few cavalry units?

I understand that some of the problem with cavalry in the AWI is that the countryside was heavily wooded back then, so it was difficult to deploy large units. No room for anything like the cavalry charges Napoleon launched at Waterloo.
