Ah, so. Like MacArthur writhing Japan's constitution! The Shia are such malleable and submissive people. Did I say that ? NO … What I said was " A lot of work to be done …" No where did I say it would be easy or even if it could be done. I listed in priority some of what needs to be done to define "victory" … Don't put words in my mouth … Plus no way in Hell[or Paradise] would I say/think islamists especially Shia are amendable to anything from infidels. E.g. the US and IDF … Save for bombs, missiles, drones, etc. FYI we have plenty of those and making more. Pay attention … there's a war on … 🤨 Better speak to yer man about that You never take anything off the table. You have to let your enemy think that all options are on or can be in play. Again, Sun Tzu, The ART of WAR – to paraphrase, "All war is deception." … You Want the enemy to be confused, not knowing who what where, etc. they will be struck, etc. Surprise is a Principle of War … I'd think they teach those in all militaries ? E.g. : During the 1st Gulf War. And I remember seeing this … GEN Schwartzkopf briefing the media. Said that there is a USMC MEU[IIRC]. Off Iraq's coast. Prepared to go in. It was on TV, everybody saw and heard it. Including the Iraqis, they watch CNN too. It turned out after the war was completed. What happened there. Was GEN S, said that so the Iraqis would know about it. The Iraqis left about 3 Divs there to defend against the MEU hitting the beach. FYI 3 Iraq Divs are about 8000 to 10,000 troops Each. More or less … Do the math … The deception was further enhanced by USN SEALs doing diversionary raids. Infiltrating along the coast. And blowing up demo, etc. to make it look like an invasion was occurring. They did that a number of times … Those 3 Iraqi Divs. never moved from their defensive positions. Waiting for an invasion that never came. They were pretty much there until the war was over. Effectively removing 3 Iraq Divs from the battle. Without attacking them to any extent. The MEU was there … They were a key part of this deception plan. And of course they could have been deployed if need be. At any time, along the coast or elsewhere. They were ready and waiting I'm pretty sure … Sun Tzu would have approved … Yes ? It's a good idea to have a plan yourself though. You that because you were there? I wasn't but I know having been thru many schools, courses, FTXs, etc. as an Officer, even a Jr. Officer. We were taught/trained to develop contingency plans for all possibilities. Generally, 4 Courses of Action(COA). We had to do that; we were trained that way and more in US ARMY Combined Arms School. Or in short, always have a backup plan(s). Always designate a reserve. That is pretty much was SOP … I don't know how countries do that if they are not in NATO ? So I'm pretty sure there are plans/COAs. Not only based on WWII, etc. But based on decades of conflicts in the Mid East, A'stan, etc. We know … this is not our first rodeo … But please if the JCS or IDF emails you let me know. Forward those to me. But I may have them already … OK … 🤩😎😆 The POTUS mentioned that Spec Ops may/could go in to secure Iran's nuclear material. But not currently … Which means if one has any common sense. That would/could only occur after the IRGC, etc. have been significantly attrited, etc. FYI – that attrition is ongoing as I type this. Or even the IDF Spec Op could do something like that. With or without the US. They already have "boots on the ground". And have been there for a long time … OR is the POTUS using deception ? Or not ? The IRGC, etc. will never know[if there are any left] when it will come … It will probably be too late by then. Remember Venezuela ? As it does appear the remaining IRGC, Basji, islamist gov't has no intention to stop fighting. No matter how many strikes, etc. are made. They will go down fighting. And yes some may run … but many won't, based on their fanatical religious beliefs. Or fear of being captured by the "Free Persian" force. And being treated like they treated 80% of the "Persians" … I won't be pretty … Karma is a … |

By the way, I paid $3.49 USD/gallon of gas yesterday. That's up $.50 USD from what I paid a week ago. Gee? I wonder what could have caused that? 🤔 Now, I do live in Pennsylvania, which has a spirited competition with California on who can have the highest gasoline tax in the nation. So we're probably ahead of the rest of you. |

John, I gave you an answer. So agree or do you have a different one? 🙂 …. And yes mostly 3.49 here too, but as low as 3.19. Expected it. Willing to pay it for this. Also should be temporary. Of course suppliers immediately took advantage of the users, (as if the new higher priced barrels are already in the pipelines), but that is the rape of the consumers since time immemorial. At least this is a better reason than the higher prices I paid under the last administration, for bad reasons IMHO. |

I paid $2.97 USD as Sam's Club yesterday, right here in OH. Just on the other side of the PA border. Come on by you can use my Sam's Club card. And I'll get you a piece of pizza🍕 or a hot dog🌭. They have them there. They both are great ! And yes, we know what caused that. The POTUS et al said that gas could go up. But in this case as opposed to the last Admin. This will only be temporary. Since the US is in the "drill baby drill" mode. He said that we could release some of our strategic reserves which could quickly be replaced. As this POTUS did Not declare war on fossil fuels. Well, we know why the last POTUS, etc. did all that. Which as we see turned out to be more 🐴💩. |

@JohnOFM By the way, I paid $3.49 USD USD/gallon of gas yesterday. That's up $.50 USD USD from what I paid a week ago. Gee? I wonder what could have caused that? 🤔 Now, I do live in Pennsylvania, which has a spirited competition with California on who can have the highest gasoline tax in the nation. So we're probably ahead of the rest of you. No, I live in Cali and just paid $5.49 USD/gallon -- two bucks higher than you and climbing. That's the price of stupidity – stupid voters and stupid leaders. California's energy situation is bassackwards. Instead of producing more of the oil sitting in our own ground, California imports huge amounts of crude from overseas and gets MOST of its oil from THE MIDDILE EAST! Major sources include Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Guyana, Peru, and Canada. All that Middle Eastern oil has to travel through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most dangerous chokepoints in the world, then across the Indian Ocean, often through the Strait of Malacca, and finally across the Pacific before reaching California's dwindling number of refineries. In many cases it travels 14,000 miles to get here. Meanwhile California restricts development of its own oil fields—even though producing locally would avoid those shipping routes and reduce transport emissions. On top of that, California never built the pipeline connections to the national energy distribution network. The state effectively operates as an energy island, meaning most crude arrives by tanker rather than pipelines. Then California requires a unique "boutique gasoline blend" that is mostly sold only inside the state. That limits where fuel can be sourced and refined. Finally, state Green policies have been forcing refinery closures, costly underground tank re-re-re-retrofit mandates for gas stations just killed 500 gas stations, and the highest gasoline taxes in the U.S….that all goes into General Fund to be spent on more politically and kick-back friendly homelessness and social spending programs instead of roads. That's result of One Party total rule. No checks and balances, no accountability, no consequences for bad and even corrupt policies. |
John the OFM | 08 Mar 2026 10:30 a.m. PST |
We're losing the competition for gas prices? Okay. I concede. Our gasoline taxes allegedly go to improving our roads. Empirical evidence suggests that it is not succeeding. Annual surveys of truckers suggest that Pennsylvania has the worst roads in the nation. Is California going to take away that honor as well? Can you leave us with something? |

John, you are not going to get anywhere with the oil argument about CAPITALISTS. The President gets the blame or the credit depending on which fans are loudest. I have tried to talk about Big Oil and the global market, but some people are convinced that the oil companies care about them and one man in DC controls prices. It's not government-owned oil like in socialist countries. Just ask Chevron. And they decide when to drill and where. They sell and buy where they choose and that means globally. The current market instability is not going away by tapping the government reserves. I think we all hated that when Biden did it. It didn't make a dent then either, why copy Biden? |

More scorpions we have taken to our breast. CBS: "Two people from Pennsylvania were arrested outside Gracie Mansion, which is the home of Mayor Zohran Mamdani and his wife, on Saturday afternoon, after a suspicious device was ignited. NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch told reporters on Saturday that an anti-Islam protest was organized by people associated with Jake Lang, a pardoned Jan. 6 rioter and far-right influencer. A group of counter-protesters, numbering more than 100, also gathered, and two young men from Pennsylvania, angered by the anti-Islam protest, brought the homemade bombs to the gathering, intending to cause harm, law enforcement sources told CBS News. …. The NYPD's Bomb Squad sent the devices to the FBI's Quantico lab for analysis. One of the devices was determined not to be a "hoax device or a smoke bomb," but instead it was "an improvised explosive device (IED) that could have caused serious injury or death," Tisch said in a statement Sunday. …. Two sources told CBS News that the IEDs contained triacetone triperoxide, or TATP, a volatile explosive material. It is often synthesized from acetone and hydrogen peroxide, appearing as a white crystalline powder. Another suspicious device was found Sunday in a vehicle on East End Ave. about three blocks south of the park where Gracie Mansion is located, the NYPD said, prompting "limited evacuations of buildings in the vicinity while the Bomb Squad assesses and removes the device." … Videos showing the chaos from the protests, verified by the CBS News Confirmed team, show a man apparently yelling "Allahu Akbar" – or "God is Most Great" – just as a protester, identified as 18-year-old Emir Balat, of Pennsylvania, allegedly throws an "ignited device." " I just watched the video. 😡 Now even more interesting from Mamdani. "Direct Quotes from Mayor Zohran Mamdani (March 7-8, 2026): "Yesterday, a white supremacist, Islamophobic protest took place outside Gracie Mansion, followed by a counterprotest. Such hate has no place in our city—it is an affront to our values and the unity that defines who we are." "Violence at a protest is never acceptable. The attempt to use an explosive device, and others, is not only criminal, it is reprehensible—the antithesis of who we are." "I thank the brave men and women of the NYPD who acted quickly to keep New Yorkers safe." So he condemns the Protesters attacked as "white supremacist, Islamophobic protest" 😳 But the counter protesters throwing the bomb are what then!? How can one suffer from islamophobia, when the ones throwing the bombs at you are shouting " Allahu Akbar" and one is the child of " naturalized" parents from Afghanistan and the other a child of naturalized parents from Turkey?! 🙄😡 |

SBminisguy, sorry for the delay in replying – I've been busy lately. Your figures on religiosity in Iran are quite interesting. Where's the theocratic tyranny? Oil can be delivered by sea and rail. While pipelines are being built… The "Power of Siberia" pipeline took 12 years to build. And that was during a period when there was no urgent need for it… So if it were needed, it could be built much faster. link The Iranian regime killed 30,000 people? Where's the evidence? Empty propaganda. Show me the calculation method, and then I'll believe it. And now, a week of war has passed – there are no protests, despite the huge losses in the Iranian government. The Iranians will not tolerate external aggression. You've achieved the same effect as in Russia… Unity. 35thOVI, Iran is certainly orders of magnitude inferior to the US in military power and can hardly count on a complete victory in this war. But it is successfully destroying US infrastructure in the region, it dictates the energy market, it controls the humanitarian situation in the region (food supplies)… It is far from as helpless as it may seem. And all these stories about "they'll soon run out of missiles" have been amusing me since 2022, in Ukraine… I think Iran is capable of waging war for another month, maybe two. And with the assistance of China, Russia, and North Korea, much longer. Although China makes a rather pitiful impression on me right now. And yet, now is the perfect time for them to retake Taiwan. |

As mentioned earlier, Iran's strategy in the first phase of the war was to disrupt US radar and interceptor capabilities in the region, which functioned as early warning systems for Israel. The goal of this move was to reduce the effectiveness of intercepting ballistic missiles launched at Israel. Since Iran's inventory of medium- and short-range missiles and drones significantly exceeds its long-range missiles, this strategy appears to be aimed at using advanced long-range missiles more economically and efficiently. t.me/boris_rozhin/201927 |

No. Declaring "jihad" requires compelling reasons… For example, a Crusader invasion. You're confusing declarations of "jihad" by some self-proclaimed fringe groups (like ISIS) with officially recognized spiritual leaders. It's like the Pope declaring a new "crusade"… Although, of course, Christians have already lost their religious fervor, and this is unlikely to inspire them. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jihad You have, in fact, attacked a figure equivalent to the Pope in the Muslim world… It's hard to say what this might lead to. |

AXIOs: "Israel's strikes on 30 Iranian fuel depots Saturday went far beyond what the U.S. expected when Israel notified it in advance, sparking the first significant disagreement between the allies since the war began eight days ago, according to a U.S. official, Israeli official and a source with knowledge. Why it matters: The U.S. is concerned Israeli strikes on infrastructure that serves ordinary Iranians could backfire strategically, rallying Iranian society to support the regime and driving up oil prices. Driving the news: The Israeli air force's Saturday strikes created large fires in Tehran, igniting flames visible for miles and blanketing the capital in heavy smoke. The IDF claimed in a statement that the fuel depots "are used by the Iranian regime to supply fuel to different consumers including its military organs." An Israeli military official said the strikes were intended in part to tell Iran to stop targeting Israeli civilian infrastructure. Behind the scenes: Israeli and U.S. officials said the IDF notified the U.S. military ahead of the strikes. But a U.S. official said that the U.S. military was surprised by how wide-ranging they were. "We don't think it was a good idea," a senior U.S. official said. An Israeli official said the U.S. message to Israel was "WTF". The White House and the IDF didn't comment." I listed our objectives before. I made sure I said they were not necessarily Israel's. 😉 Both May and probably are a bit, or a lot different. I tend to agree with Israel with this. Hard to bring the country to its knees without hitting their source of income. Also without the money, they can't build their weapons or supply their terrorists allies. Well unless the money comes from a well known country. But then again, without their oil, how much use is Iran to that country? 😏 |

I tend to agree with Israel with this. Well you would wouldn't you?. Bibi doesn't care if he sets the entire Middle East alight. He reckons that if Muslims are fighting Muslims they'll leave Israel alone. He's wrong, and so are you. It'll make the world a much more dangerous place, kill hundreds of thousands and wreck world economies. Enjoy. |

Ahhh but you"ll always be safe. So don't worry yourself. But you did import a lot of Muslims and you all ARE infidels too, so maybe not. 😏 Fundamentalists Muslims do not discriminate. They are the original equal opportunity killers. "Bringing destruction since 600". 😏 |

Fundamentalists Muslims do not discriminate. Sure they do. Shia vs Sunni is classic. And there are "sects" within both Shia and Sunni that persecute each other. Let's not forget the Druse. |

John thanks for making my point. 😉 They will kill anyone anytime. Anyone who disagrees with their interpretation. ☠️ One should really research the "12th Imam" believers. |

If wars could be won by posting encouraging news stories, this one would already be finished. And, if the argument is that the other side is driven by fanaticism, mirroring the fanaticism is an odd way to demonstrate the difference. It is one thing to degrade a regime's military capacity. It is another to announce that every successor and every succession meeting is now a target. At that point the objective starts to look less like disarmament and more like permanent decapitation with no obvious political end state. "Define victory" is not a rude question in that context. It is the central one. At some point "unconditional surrender" starts to mean "we'll know victory when there is nobody left to negotiate with," which is a curious way to describe a stabilizing strategy. |
