Can be Rock and Roll, Country, Jazz, Classical etc. Whatever. I'll not limit the genre. Bobby Fuller. He fought the Law. But the Law didn't kill him. Allegedly the Mob did. Frankie Lymon, of the Teenagers. His "drug overdose" was kind of suspicious. After all, Morris Levy was involved. Sam Cooke. I remember glancing at a tabloid headline "Sam Cooke's SIN Death!" I'll leave the most obvious one for someone else to nominate. |

I realize this is a site that features zombies, vampires, skeletons, ghouls, demons, devils, and mass slaughter on a grand scale, but this is too morbid for me! |

The follow-up question will be, did you appreciate their music more or less after they were murdered? |

Favorite murdered singer? That should be obvious. The one who couldn't sing. |

Any and all rappers On a more serious note, Bobby Fuller – although I think The Clash did a better job with I Fought The Law |

Robert Johnson. History says he was probably poisoned by a jealous husband, but we all know it was the devil. If you're going to sell your soul at the crossroads, be sure to read the fine print. |

Well Kurt Cobain seems to be on this list from a recent article I read |
Grattan54 | 26 Feb 2026 6:40 p.m. PST |
Sam Cooke. One of the favorites. |

Curtis Mayfield. Yes, I believe it was murder. Tupac was not murdered, he is in hiding. |

Selena and Christina Grimmie, both killed by fans obsessed with them. |

Well since this is the miniatures Page where we at least tangentially deal with war games (which simulate military conflicts), then I will go with one that sang war related songs -- Barry Sadler. |

Robert Johnson. … If you're going to sell your soul at the crossroads, be sure to read the fine print. I'd expect the devil to provide at least a lifetime of commercial success, which Johnson never got. I haven't read the contract, however, so he may have violated some provision that resulted in early termination. |

Nero? Sometimes reported as suicide or execution, but clearly under outside pressure. He was the critics' choice, having won every award in sight. Britannica says "infamous for his personal debaucheries and extravagances" which puts him well into rock star territory. |

I don't have any of Nero's records. He was before even my time. |
