If you're going to sell your soul at the crossroads, be sure to read the fine print. I'd expect the devil to provide at least a lifetime of commercial success, which Johnson never got. I haven't read the contract, however, so he may have violated some provision that resulted in early termination. |

Nero? Sometimes reported as suicide or execution, but clearly under outside pressure. He was the critics' choice, having won every award in sight. Britannica says "infamous for his personal debaucheries and extravagances" which puts him well into rock star territory. |
