It's a two hour review, which may still not be enough time to cover all Ridley Scott's crimes. Can't we just let it die? |

I am really sad for this film. My vote is 3. There are good actors, good costumes, good photograpy but the result is terrible. |

And what is up with reviews as long as the content? A friend sent me a review of a boardgame – that plays in 45-60 minutes. The review was 56! |

Didn't watch this review, seen many others. IMO take out all battle scenes, they are useless. The rest isn't as bad, uniforms and clothes, scenery all is at least worth seeing. |

"When old directors die, they become cameramen." See Kubrick's "Barry Lyndon." |

Napoleon is what happens when Hollywood script writers are allowed to "improve on the history". Certain stories and certain characters are good enough in reality that the only thing needed is for them to be adapted to the medium. |

I heard that there is a director's cut coming. The one where the Imperial Guard attacks Wellington's lines with ornithopters. |

"Napoleon" by Ridley Scott? Sorry, I don't recall that movie. Wait, you mean "Josephine and Her Simp"? Oh yeah, that movie sucked! |

The review is far too long as it shows too many very extended sequences to point out the gross inaccuracies, but it did appeal to me for the sheer anger expressed by the narrator. Totally justified. I left the cinema appalled by what I had seen, but this review has made me realise that resentment and fury is more appropriate. I gather it will eventually break even and actually started out really well, until the word got around. Thanks for posting the review, but I did have to skip through it |

and one good, no great, thing came of this review. The narrator said Depardieu's Napoleon, from 2017, was far better. I am only half way through the first episode and I am convinced. If only it was in the original french with subtitles. The dubbing, I have heard far worse, but it does spoil it slightly. Not sure how I have missed this before. |
