It hasn't stopped raising in UK for weeks which is rather dull. Progress on my Waterloo model has therefore been inhibited by my inability to take sections outside and show them holistically.

Here are some updated shots showing the wood just North of Frischermont which links the chateau to Smohain.

We have also worked on Le Caillou, the farm where Napoleon spent the night before Waterloo.

First up is Le Caillou. The original building was burnt by the Prussians.

The walled garden is however original:

Next up is the Frischermont wood

This is a new ruined building for the village:

La Haye:

This amounts to another large contribution to the project. The next stage will be the many figures needed to populate the diorama in these areas. More on my blog at: link

Excellent work as always.

The farm buildings do have that rural degradation look that adds to the ‘feel' of the time.

Best wishes,

Chris

Terrific work as usual. Agree with Chris's observation about the weathering.

Just great terrain. So nice to see the attention to detail.

Sunshine in Dorset in 2026. He did well to get these photos (and quickly). The modelling of the buildings is great, but the subsequent weathering is a real work of art.

How clever to get Le Caillou right for 1815 and not what is now sold to us as "the very place where Rod Steiger…sorry Napoleon, before Didley Squatt retold it, etc"

Picture 22 (third from the last) is someplace I'd like to visit. I can see myself walking my dog on the lane heading off to the trees.

Many thanks for the kind comments. I'm quite critical of my own work and can see quite a few snags to rectify.
