Apparently I need "Averaging Dice" to play Honours of War. I used to have some back in my WRG Ancients days, but, like the armies, they're all gone now. 🤷 No problem. I went to Chessex and picked out a few of different colors and placed them in my shopping cart. Here's where the problem started. 🙄 I had to Register. I couldn't just tell them my card number and address. That would be soooo 1990s! I had to give an email address. I had to "prove I was human" by picking the pictures of cars. Or bridges. Or crosswalks. Or planes. Or trains. I guess I was never human enough to pass the test. Never worthy enough. Maybe the Shadout Mapes could have done a better job? So, anyway. I failed my roll to be worthy to pay them $16 USD to buy some dice. 👍 Good job, technology! We are all safer now! And I still need those damn dice! Yeah, I can cheat with a marker, but that doesn't address my rant. |

Or you could use an ordinary D6 and treat a roll of "1" as a 3 and "6" as a 4. This would save $16 USD and be suitably old school. |

Persist! Remember, you only have to be sufficiently human once. I knew drill sergeants and TAC officers who were human every now and then. Sure there wasn't a "check out as guest" option? There usually is. |

Seems a lot of places have ended that "You have to register before we sell you anything approach." That does sound like a lot of hoops to jump through just to buy some dice. |

I could find no "checkout as guest" option. And, why would that be necessary? Why isn't that the default? |

They are a buck apiece on ebay. |

Presumably plus shipping, 79th? OFM, no one actually says, but my guess would be that registering gives them more cover when they spam you, because now you've established some sort of relationship. Understand, they might be working up a profile--what you own and what you buy--which would both mean they were better positioned to offer you stuff you might like, and that they could sell your information to someone else for more money. Sadly, even without that, since I bought a few 28mm SF figures and some A&A tanks and guns I can't listen to YouTube music videos without seeing the same two Noble Knight commercials over and over. These alternate with the Litko ad. One of these days, I'll buy custom D6's with the "Frankish Axe" as the "6" for my Vichy French, and then I'll get Chessex ads in the mix. |

Easiest imho to buy blank dice at 35 cents each and add the numbers to make them average. Lol I have 100s in stock. |

John: "I want to give you my money." Chessex: "OK, but first you have to pass this dog agility test." Great business model. |

I think that discern the invisible hand of the market: If you make it too hard to buy from you, people will buy from those who make it easier. It's an opportunity for an up-and-coming dice company. If I were to start such a start-up, I'd have to call it "Checkersex." |

Get blank dice and put the numbers on with marker. |

I thought checkersex was when you flirted with a cashier? |
