Greeting fellow gamers,

The weather is finally starting to get warmer, which means the campaigning season will soon start. And we have a number of upcoming events to start us off.

Our next show is our "Civil War Weekend" Held at the fantastic Civil War Museum. in Kenosha Wisconsin. We have over a dozen games slated, and an informative talk by Richard Zimmermann regarding "Military Miniature Gaming History". Come both days if you can, but we hope to see you at least once. As an HMGS member the event is free, or you can but a membership at the door. ($10) Remember membership has it's privilege's.

Shortly after that will be Grognard's Game Night, in Roselle, IL, Garycon, Adepticon, and the Seven Years Wars Con. Some of your favorite HMGS GMs will be running their games at these cons. So come out and play and enjoy these finely run shows.

With this issue we are announcing additional Little Wars information. Registration has opened as of January 1st, so get your badge and games in. Remember if you want to run games, you need to get a GM badge. The room block is open, for a great price of $109 USD per night. The Sheraton is already out of Queen Rooms, so we have negotiated and additional room block with Hyatt in Lisle, roughly a mile away. Get those before they sell out.

Our vendor list is published and we are still working with a couple of more to add. This is a heads up to start saving your money. We are looking forward to have George Nafziger as our 2026 Guest of Honor. Make sure to stop by and say hi, even better get some of his great books too. Stanford's battery will once again fire their 12 Pounder for our opening ceremonies. We will have a Mexican and German food option for our tableside service. Tournaments will include Team Yankee, Flames of War, Bolt Action, Konflict 47, and Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game. Christine and Paul Welnar will be back with their "Get the lead out" paint-n-take. And we have a sneak peak of some LW Merchandise. The Army Painter has agreed to sponsor our painting contest so, you have a warning order to get your best models ready.

We have finalized the 2026 Chicago Memoir Conference, which will be held in Addison, IL. In conjunction with the newly opening museum "The Chicagoland Veteran's Campus" Keep you calendar open for the first weekend in June. Finally be sure to check out the great article by Bruce Grabowski on gaming. We are always open to publish your works on gaming, so don't be shy.
