Hi! I've painted three field guns for my Confederate army : link I hope you'll like them! Max |

Nice looking figures. Really like the bases. Just curious though…the barrel and large sack really stand out as unusual. Were they carrying something necessary for the gun's operation or did you just add them for visual effect? |

Fantastic work. Looks like you are getting the guns done on this army first. Whats next? More Rebs or are you going to finish your Union? |

Great work and thanks for sharing – love the variability in the gunner's uniform, with some of them sticking to those red kepis! |

Thanks a lot for the nice words on the figures — really happy you like them! Regarding the barrel and the large sack, I tend to add stuff like that on my Napoleonic artillery bases purely for the visual impact: it helps fill the space on the base without making it look too cluttered. But now I'm wondering — is that kind of thing historically off for ACW artillery crews ? Gonna carry on with my Rebs — I need a change of pace after painting over a hundred blue guys to keep the mojo alive… Next up: Confederate sharpshooters, loaded with conversions! Max |

The barrel and sack do give it more of a Napoleonic feel for sure, but I'm not familiar with anything needed that would be in a barrel or sack. A metal bucket of water to swab the barrel perhaps… But don't worry about my comments; the figures and guns look nice and the barrel and sack do provide a little visual variety. Looking forward to the Reb sharpshooters. |

Great looking artillery. I too try to add little details to make my units unique. My Confederates are organized as the Army of Northern Virginia's McLaws' Division in 1863. The artillery batteries are a single stand with the number of guns (4 or 6) indicated by the size of the stand. The unit batteries include the Troup (Ga) Artillery that has a small dog on the stand that stands in for "Charlie". link I'm presently expanding my forces to add Breckinridge's Division from the Army of Tennessee. This includes the 5th Company of the Washington (La) Artillery. The battery will also have a piano on the base. link |
