In case anyone hasn't seen it yet, Irregular Miniatures announced the other day that they're closing down in March: irregularminiatures.co.uk |

I'd missed that – thanks for the heads up. I remember when they started up and were a really ground breaking new company – just imagine a world where no-one had yet sculpted fire pigs for use in siege games! Not to mention the battle packs and the complete game sets including 2 armies and a rule set. And TUSK! Here's wishing Ian Kay a long and happy retirement.
From a selfish point of view it's good to see that the 2mm and 6mm lines will continue, although I'd always hankered after a 42mm or 54mm toy soldier setup (I have a few of their figures but only as display pieces). Can you believe that the 42mm foot figures are around £2.50 GBP and the 54mm £5.00 GBP? I guess there's just enough time to take the plunge…and then I look at the plastic and lead mountain |

A great company and part of wargaming from the 1980s onwards. A long heritage, which will carry on with their smaller scale items. martin |

There was a hint that the 10mm range may be available too. Finger crossed! I will miss their 20 and 25/28mm ranges. Best wishes to Ian on his retirement. 45 years is a milestone in our hobby. |

I'll miss them greatly. But I'm not going to be a pig about it: long and happy retirement, Ian! |

What a loss to our hobby. Like Robert said, they deserve a long and happy retirement. |
