It's time I put my money (and my time) where my mouth is… Last weekend was a major milestone for a new project I've been working on with Paul from the Pazoot Channel YouTube link : our first large playtesting session for a new game we are working on called The Battle Chronicle pazoot.com/battle-chronicle . All the photos here are from that day, when we finally put the system through its paces on a fully set-up table.
Paul has been focused on writing the rules, while I've been handling playtesting, scenario staging, and (alongside my mate Ray) documenting everything as it develops. Each Battle Chronicle is designed as a self-contained narrative skirmish mini-campaign, combining a complete ruleset with four linked scenarios built around a tight historical theme. The first Chronicle is set during Napoleon's retreat from Moscow, with a strong focus on survival, morale, and tough decisions, all wrapped into a cooperative game against an automated enemy.
This first big session gave us exactly what good playtesting should: some things worked brilliantly, some didn't, and a few moments completely surprised us—in the best possible way. It's still early days, but the road from Moscow is already proving to be a brutal and brilliant testing ground. BigLee YouTube link |

Looks good except for the junk mixed in with figures, red things and little cards. |
