Imagine that! A George R R Martin tv series with people you actually like. Except for the mandatory despicable Targaryen, of course.
My main problem was getting used to the "accents". 🤷🤔 What can I say? I'm a Yank from Nordeastern Pa, where our accent is Heynabonics. It's close to Yinzer, but not. Anyway, I like the actor who played Ser Duncan the Tall. A True Knight who most likely lied about having been knighted.
Egg is a bratty little snot, who I'm beginning to like.
Any slight changes from the novella actually work and enhance the show. George likes it. This is in contrast to Seasons 7 and 8 of Game of Thrones, which was obviously rushed, spoiling good character arcs. Only Arya and the Hound were fine at the end.
House of the Dragon had a fine Season 1. Then in Season 2, it didn't go off the rails. It just got stuck in the mud. There's nobody left who is likeable. I guess I'll watch it when it comes back on, but too much time between seasons kills interest in a show that I lost interest in. |

I like how Egg snarls "I shaved my head because I didn't want to look like you!" Dunk's actor is a fine big lug. The Irish accent doesn't hurt. 😄👍It's been confirmed by Martin that he is an ancestor of Brienne of Tarth. Possibly of Hodor too. Kudos to the actor playing Aerion. I despised him on sight. How dare you bully that cute Tanselle! Booo! Kudos also to Baelor. The only decent Targaryen in history. Due to the Super Bowl, episode 4 will show Friday night, rather than Sunday. Thank you, HBO! |

I feel it could pick up the pace a bit. We are on episode four and Duncan hasn't even been in a joust yet and the whole first season is about a jousting tournament!! |
