What fun can be found in an inexpensive pack of plastic 'reptiles'?

I recently purchased a bunch of giants. I plan on a small clan of hill giants with a few dire wolves as guards.

Anyone else have a giant clan in their collection?

I tried to build up 2e BattleSystem armies of Giants, using 25mm as the standard size for Humans, using Giant figures that matched the 1977 1e AD&D Monster Manual sizes…

I found 54mm Cave Men figures were perfect for Hill Giants. Made by Timmee Toys, mine were sold around 2007, in a bucket at Wal-Mart. Here is my favorite pose, with paint applied to the non-skin portions (the plastic was perfectly colored), Dip'ed, and matte clear coated; here is the same figure, with a shield glued to his left hand; some Giant Skeletons along with a 54mm Viking figure, painted as a Frost Giant; an old lead Grenadier Hill Giant figure (L) and another of the injection molded Cave Man plastic Hill Giant; Red Box plastic Cyclops in process, and finished; a Reaper Bones Human Skeleton, a 60mm Egyptian Skeleton, and a 54mm Timmee Toys Cave Man/Hill Giant; some plastic toy Skeletons made up to be an army of Giant Skeletons.

Here are some Cherilea, injection molded, 60mm Vikings painted up as Frost Giants. Love the kneeling pose, with his arms wide open, taunting the puny Humans to try and hurt him!

Aside from these, most of my other Giant figures are D&D/Pathfinder Giant figures. The figure makers just do not make them in the proper sizes to match up with Gary Gygax's size descriptions in his epic 1977 1e AD&D Monster Manual. It was great fun finding the Cave Men and the Vikings in proper sizes, though! Cheers!

My Giant figures have seen plenty of battle on the tabletop: Hill Giants/Cave Men, backed by Mage Knight Ettins (two heads), re-based for 2e BS games; Pathfinder Fire Giants, being led by an old WotC figure for Snurre, King of the Fire Giants (on the left, in silver armor); just for fun, here is a shot of a Cherilea Viking/Frost Giant, with his trusted side-kick Marx white/Winter Wolf figure, breathing its frosty breath weapon on some hapless Human adventurers. Cheers!

I kinda, vaguely, sorta started collecting giants, to go with my Vikings, for a sort of Ragnarok scenario. I purchased two of them, one of which got painted, before I realized this was a big, expensive project and the results just wouldn't be that wonderful in terms of game play.

I have Bad Squiddo's goddess Freya, who loathes Reaper's giant Frulla Krung ( link ).

I can see a scenario with a couple Viking style giants pillaging middle earth or warding the bounds of Jotunheim. Of course, if I ended up getting a super deal on a batch of giants, Ragnarok, or a prelude to it might well be on the table again.

I picked up a set of Fire Giants from Reaper Bones for D&D long ago. They are finally being used for a blended Viking/Giant force using the Midgard rules.

I have the King and Queen on the painting table, along with a bunch of Dragons for the Saxon side.
