Over the past few months I have relied on the hobby to help keep me sane. That's probably always been an aspect of my wargaming life, but my wife and I (together shoulder-to-shoulder) have had to deal with a particularly unpleasant situation that I don't want to get into the details of, and while doing so, I have been dealing with some of my frustration by using bits of free time to work on a bunch of small projects -- five of them to be exact.

1. Scratch-building Ali Masjid mosque

2. Scratch-building an Afghan water-wheel for a riverside mill

3. Scratch-building elephant limbers and harness to pull a pair of Armstrong 40 pounder RBLs

4. Basing & terraining some commercial mountain gum trees to fit my Afghan terrain

5. Making a bespoke sangar (Afghan fighting position made from rocks, stones, etc.) to fit atop the low hill near the front gate of Ali Masjid fort for my Alternate-History Second Afghan War scenario "Back To Ali Masjid".

Some were bigger than others but they were all pretty small -- but that didn't stop them from helping me retain my sanity! I'm happy I found the time to make my blog post and now share it with you guys, and thanks in advance if you spend some more of your own time visiting to check it out at the LINK below:

…but even if you don't, I wouldn't be the "Mad Guru" if I didn't post at least a few pics of each item listed above in an attempt to further entice you:
