I guess they never went to Valley Forge (VF). VF is over 20 miles from were the British were stationed in Philly. The terrain is hilly and wooded.

Not that I don't know the area extremely well, still wish in Rick Atkinson's The Fate of the Day there was a map of Valley Forge since he narrates the area in the story without reference to where these other points are
