A new time period is really starting to interest me! In particular, the Nine Years War / League of Augsburg is inspiring me to create an army for Beneath the Lilly Banners or Lust for Glory.

However, I seemed to have run into a slight issue.

In some reproductions and miniatures of French soldiers in the 1690s, some are wearing shoulder ribbons while in others they do not. I poured over my Ospreys and other books on the conflict but the subject of shoulder ribbons is ignored during this time period. Should they be wearing the ribbons or not?

As a secondary question, can Franco-Dutch War era French musketeers armed with flintlocks (and not wearing Apostles) be used as proxies for NYW French?

Thank you for your time!
