I've decided that I need a change from Dwarves and wanted to attack something that I have been thinking about for ages… Beastmen. The best way that I can see of doing this is by building a WH40k Tempestus Scions army, using Beastmen as proxies. Here's the first one:

I plan to sculpt enough to cover all of the entries in the codex and have enough numbers to add a bit of variety. These will be cast up and painted into a company sized army.

I have plans for suitably themed Ogryn to accompany them so that will also be in this topic. I have three more sculpts on the corks so there should be more to show off soon :) .

I understand wanting to make single-piece castings, but I would strongly advise you to make the cleared and the hand holding it a separate piece. The current pose is very awkward, with its elbow looking as though it is bending the wrong way.

I hear what you are saying because I feel the same about the pose (especially the cleaver arm) so thankyou for the constructive criticism.

This is the very first "concept" sculpt so will only be in my army and won't (likely) be one that gets cast up. It was made to see how things look and what size/equipment/armour would work.

I'm not the best at drawing so sculpting is the only way to get designs down (for me). There are a few other areas that will be changed before I am completely happy with the design but like I mentioned, this is the very first Beastman I have sculpted so there was always going to be "room for improvement" :) .

I prefer single piece miniatures but have also made a few multipart so that is always an option.

Cheers.
