In keeping with the snow and ice outside, here's my take on some snow and ice inside.

Definitely much warmer!

Thanks for posting. That looks like just the thing for my Star Wars fanatic teenage don.

It's perfect for Star Wars fans. I think it's playable for 8 and up with some guidance reading the cards. 10+ should have no problems at all.

I used to play Battle Cry and Memoir ‘44 with my son. He liked ‘em both.

*son* He likes Memoir '44 (and frequently wins) so he should have no problem with this.

One of the problems I have with the game is that snowspeeders don't act much like snowspeeders. For example, they can't fly over infantry. No rules for tow cable attacks either, which was the only way to take down an AT-AT. Why probe droids? Why not chicken walkers? Probe droids didn't participate in the ground battle. All of this is iconic stuff. :-(

I address the Snowspeeder flying ability in the review. I wondered about the chicken walkers myself, but the Probe Droids are pretty cool little models, and I like the fact that they are for the most part low-value harassment units, which force the Rebel player to decide whether to use an attack on them (and receive no medal), or attack something else for a medal, leaving yourself vulnerable to the Droid unit later.

The interesting thing about the Snowspeeders is that they wind up getting all the advantages of locating in certain terrain (like ridges), same as infantry— whereas the AT-ATs typically can't enter that terrain at all.

But I'm considering a house rule to allow flight over friendlies. But that could be quite a tactical boost, and potentially unbalancing.

Made two minor updates— Rebel Artillery have a highest attack of 4, not 5, and like the Probe Droids, don't count as "victory medals" towards winning a battle.
(It's a little easy to get the details of the various C&C games mixed up.)
