Greeting fellow gamers,
Well the New Year is now in full swing, and we have a number of events planned for the first quarter. But first, as a 501c Corporation, we are required to publicly post our financial status annually. In the past we have published an abbreviated summery of this document. But I am really proud on how hard our Board, in particular our Treasurer (CW). They have worked so diligently in keeping us fiscally healthy that, I wanted to show it off. Remember the more successful your organization is, the more we can offer back to our members. Thank you.
Coming up next is our "Civil War Weekend" Held at the fantastic Civil War Museum. in Kenosha Wisconsin. We have over a dozen games slated so far, but we could always use a few more. We have also opened it up to AWI (For the 250th celebration) So if, if you got the favorite game you want run, come and be part of the magic.
Coming shortly after that will be Garycon, Adepticon, and the Seven Years Wars Con. Some of your favorite HMGS GMs will be running their games at these cons. So come out and play and enjoy these finely run events.
In this issue we are announcing additional Little Wars information. Registration has opened as of January 1st, so get your badge and games in. Remember if you want to run games, you need to get a GM badge. The room block is open, for a great price of $109 USD per night. We are looking forward to have George Nafziger as our 2026 Guest of Honor. Stanford's battery will once again fire their 12 Pounder for our opening ceremonies. We will have a Mexican and German option for our tableside food service. Tournaments will include Team Yankee, Flames of War, Bolt Action, Konflict 47, and Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game. Christine and Paul Welnar will be back with their "Get the lead out" paint-n-take. And we have a sneak peak of some LW Merchandise.
Once again we do not have any articles this month, so please help us out, and lets get some good stories and info out to our readers. Make sure you see the new gaming club starting up, the: Joliet Wargaming Society. Please contact Matt Cappellini at mathewcapellini@gmail.com. So if you are in the area, check it out.
Finally the 2026 Calendar is out. There are plenty of save the dates. Please let me know if we missed something. Also keep in mind some dates may change, so always check the most up to date newsletter.
See you at the gaming table,
Kevin
