Very interesting discussion from WW2TV on the army group commanders in NWE and their relationships with Eisenhower.
Warning if you are an Ike or Bradley fan expect to be challenged.

Wow.

That really makes you re-evaluate Eisenhower and Bradley.
I am starting to view Eiesenhower as the ETO equivalent of Macarthur.

Bradly as some bookworm who was over his head.

Nice to see some more credit to Devers, a guy who was intentionally and deliberately downplayed.

Makes you wonder how a Patton working under Devers might have played out?

Yes Devers was very talented and under used. I didn't know he had a shot at crossing the Rhine in November. Wonder how that would have played out had he crossed and rolled up the flank of the German army.
The reputations that Ike and Bradley carved out for themselves are called into question. Ike as the diplomat and allied team player and Bradley as the soldier's general don't stack up with the facts.
