"Sharpe's Last Pair of Socks". (A desperate campaign fought entirely against wet weather, lice and the Commissariat. Sharpe's Chosen Men threatened by compulsory feet inspections….) The heroine, yet another formidable, long-suffering woman who survives battles, social scandal, and Richard Sharpe's personality, only to be written out once he marches off toward the next war, could be the Regimental podiatrist, Lady Anita Pedicure.

I LOVE the plot idea for "Sharpe's Socks" :-) (Apologies to Ochoin for abbreviating his superb title – the shorter version fits the Cornwell model a little better, IMO.) Etoipi's "Sharpe's Post-Retirement Civil Service Job" sounds like the perfect final book in the Sharpe series, although I'd abbreviate that title too to be "Sharpe's Old Rope" ;-)
