Early/mid 1980s I attended a gaming convention at, I think Floral Hall in London. I played the boardgame Escape From Colditz with Major Pat Reid. Also picked up a few 25mm Aztecs (Naismith I think). It was probably 81, or 82 at the latest. My Google Fu is failing me.

It was definitely in London, I'm pretty sure it was at Floral Hall but not 100% certain. It wasn't a SELWG or Salute show as it wasn't in a modern town hall or pub. Certainly no later than 82 as I was in my heavy metal phase and had just discovered Detroit Rock City by Kiss*.

Anyone remember, or have any ideas?

Think you might be thinking of the Royal Horticultural Hall Which is where Games Day moved to for a couple of years at least in the early '80s

Iirc it was at Seymour Hall before that.

Brilliant, with that I have been able to work out it was 1981, and found the programme online link

The long since gone Aztecs were indeed Naismith 25mm.

Apart from not recalling it being a 2 day event I am pretty sure I was there on the Saturday!
