If you can still get pennies, I find CLR will clean them to mint new condition. Nothing I ever tried before works near as well.

It's really quite amazing have fast it works.

Mercury is very fast and very good at cleaning copper pennies.

It also melts your brain, so there's that.

Never considered CLR to clean coins before. That's good to know. Be sure to always wear protective gear: nitrile gloves and eye protection to protect from splashes.

CLR is widely available at DIY and big box stores in the cleaning chemicals area. Cheers!

Coca Cola (or any tonic with phosphoric acid) will do the trick nicely without needing so much hazmat protection.
