If you can still get pennies, I find CLR will clean them to mint new condition. Nothing I ever tried before works near as well. It's really quite amazing have fast it works. |

Mercury is very fast and very good at cleaning copper pennies. It also melts your brain, so there's that. |

Never considered CLR to clean coins before. That's good to know. Be sure to always wear protective gear: nitrile gloves and eye protection to protect from splashes. CLR is widely available at DIY and big box stores in the cleaning chemicals area. Cheers! |

Coca Cola (or any tonic with phosphoric acid) will do the trick nicely without needing so much hazmat protection. |
