I didn't think 2025 had been a particularly productive year, but that's because I don't keep a log of what I've painted or played. So looking back to compile a retrospective ended up revealing I've done a lot more than I thought.

More figures painted in more period and more games played. That's a good result. From Germanic tribes to Saxon war bands. From Hundred Years War to the American War of Independence. Let's not forget the Second World War.

Reading the blog I would say that you had an excellent year of gaming. I keep a log for painting but am lax about tracking games played. You're right about us sometimes focusing too much on what we missed out on and not on what we achieved. A good reason to keep a blog.

When I started the blog back in 2017 I had no particular ambitions other than to record my various activities. I can now look back on a great archive of projects I've created and games played. Social media may offer many instant gratifications but they are short lived. You still can't beat a blog or a forum for having a body of work that you can easily search.
