I've been doing The Pledge for the the last ten years. It's used to keep track of what's been bought and what's been painted through out the year. This is the original post started by mweaver in 2005.
TMP link It's done a little differently by each person but the basic goal remains same, reduce the lead pile by painting more than you buy. Here's an image of the excel sheet I use to keep track of yearly total in figures, An infantry figure counts the same as a cavalry figure. I also keep track using points from the Analogue Painting challenge.

Ten years and I'm 320 figures ahead.I don't know how many unpainted I started with as it have been too stressful to count but a guess would be at least a thousand maybe more. |

Your discipline is impressive. Cool that you track it.
If I were to do this, I think I would inventory what I have unpainted in my Pile of Opportunity. That would be easier now as I have sold off several thousand dollars of miniatures. Downsizing…… |

Congratulations for being ahead of the game after 10 years. I will not hit 10 years in the Pledge until October 2016, but I will not have eliminated my lead pile. Though I might have painted more than I bought. |

I too have been tracking my painting verses buying for the last ten years. It is unique how one year you can paint many more than you buy while another you buy quite a few more. Can't see any reasons this happens. |

Myxemail,thanks I had started a count but it was a bit over whelming and with the exception of 200 15mm ACW mostly small packets of figures spread out all over the place. DOUGKL, I don't think I will ever eliminate the lead pile ecaminis, this is probably due to sales, having more free time or how easy the figures are to paint or the moon being in the seventh house. Dagwood, can't see that ever happening, of course in 30 years I'll be more focused on living another year and making it to 100:-) |
