I want to model pre-dreadnought, turn ofthe century, pre-WW1 games. Don't know whether to go for 1/3000th or 1/2400th I can't find a good supplier for either. Navwar sounds good on paper but it's almost impossible to pay for the models as they don't do online payments & they are almost unavailable to contact, just a few hours on a Saturday afternoon – or have I got this wrong? The only 1/2400th I've seen are Ironclads or WW1 Dreadnoughts nothing in between. Can anyone suggest an alternative? Jae |

Navwar are fine. Decent quality and much cheaper than 1/2400. Just follow the ordering instructions and use the form on the website. Include alternates for potential out of stock items. They will only charge you for what they send you. Delivery is fast. |

What about War Times Journal? They have pre-dreds, however I think they only do 3d print files now and no longer sell models. They do have a list of printers on the web store though so you can get them printed. They are defaulted to a 1/1800 scale, but you can scale them up or down as you like. Personally, I think larger sizes would work well for pre-dreds. TMP link wtj.com/store |

Yeah, looks like 1/300th is the better deal. Navwar was my first inclination but I feel uneasy sending a snail mail order which incluses ALL my bank details, including the security number on one page. Can't do 3d printing so WTJ is out I'm also looking for smaller shipsmsuch as Torpedo Boats. Ditto Large & Small Merchant ships – would they be coal-fired too or was the Merchant Navy still using transitional/victorian ships Any ideas where I can find such? Jae |

FWIW – xpforge.com sells the resin printed War Times Journal ships. You can get them in either 1/1200, 1/1800, 1/2400 or 1/3000. |

Thanks but I just checked – they say "You can choose from the following scales: 1:1800 1:1250 1:2400" |

Have you looked at Panzerschiffe? |

Sadly, Panzerschiffe only do Spanish-American, Russo-Japanese, and Sino-Japanese Wars Pre-Dreadnoughts, no Europeans :( but thanks for the suggestion. I have left a couple of messages for xpforge re: their resin prints of WTJ 1/2400th & if they fit the bill then cost be damned, I might just go for 'em! Jae |

If you ask at xpforge they will print other scales. My preferred scale is 1/4800 and while that won't work for the WTJ stuff, it might in 1/3000. I have their 1/2400 stuff for pre-dred along with Tumbling Dice and they are very good. The other designers, COB and Ghukek, that xpforge carries work in 1/4800 and they'd certainly work in 1/3000. |
