Lovely figs, but 13.5mm seems a strange scale. |

so often discussed here, just how confusing scales expressed as millimetres can be. A firearm is a fixed dimension so a scale can be calculated. Humans vary and the makers of miniatures can never agree whether mm means soles of feet to eyes, or top of head etc. So the less strange "scales" (the larger ones) can be 15mm, 18mm, 20 mm, 25mm or 28mm (with much crossover in practice). Add in then the variations in anatomy. The Hobbit like figures with stubby legs, others with huge heads, the very very slender gents vs the front row of a rugby scrum types. And every variant conceded and claimed to be correct for figures on a wargames table viewed from above. Figures like this do make you appreciate what a column looked like at Waterloo. I think there are 12x 80 figures here, so just short of a thousand. Imagine what just one of the four columns of d'Erlon's 1st Corps would have looked like coming towards you. Helps to be behind the ridge top and smoke to obscure them of course. |
