My buddy Mark Deliduka will be celebrating completion of his 1,000th 1/72nd scale military model by setting up his HUGE collection, all built by him since 1970!

Like it says in the title of this post, Mark's collection will be on display from Friday January 23rd to Wednesday January 28th, from 10AM to 8PM daily at:

The Knights of Columbus Hall
11217 N Anaheim Blvd.
Anaheim, California, 92801

This is the same spot where the "St. Crispin's Irregulars" wargaming club meets almost every Monday night and on the second Saturday every month. The building has its own parking lot conveniently attached.

I strongly encourage anyone reading this who is relatively local to the address and interested in scale modeling and/or Armored Fighting Vehicles to stop by for a visit, enjoy the collection in person, and have the chance to pick Mark's brain re: any and all things scale model-making related. Mark is a great guy who's very generous about sharing his hobby knowledge and skills with anyone who asks.

Here are just a few pics from the last time he set up his collection over the years, on the occasions of hitting #800 and then #900:

Too bad I'm almost on the other side of the country.

I'll miss you, Jim! I know you'd love to see this collection in person and I believe you & Mark would enjoy meeting. Have a very Happy New Year!

Anaheim is a bit of a hump from the San Francisco area, unfortunately.

I admire Mark's ambition and dedication and skill.

I spy with my little eye an M51. So far I have only made the gun and got distracted yet again by the French Artillery Train at Waterloo

We will miss you Oberlindes, and hope you find your way back to your own M51 at some point, deadhead!

In the meantime the date is upon us and Mark has provided this pic of the collection on display, so… if you're seeing this and live within reach and have an interest, I again invite you COME ON DOWN to the KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS HALL in Anaheim and check it out in person!

Beautiful and that's an impressive amount of work. I've been painting and building my German and British armies for the last 10 years, and I probably only have around 100 vehicles finished.

The only thing I ever saw more impressive was at an early GENCON where someone displayed a full Panzer division 1 to 1 with every vehicle that would be in the Division. It was massive, I think there was pictures of it in the old Wargames Digest.
