I have been rather withdrawn this past year. I want to see my gaming friends but I don't go to the history game day or to special invitation-only games. I like everyone I game with but half-way through a day, I become very tired. Instead of lunch, I need a nap. (Oh, but for a comfortable chair to catch 30 minutes worth of winks.) I also have a fear that my lack of ability to remember rules causes me to bog down the games. I came up with an idea for an expanded Travel Battle game on a 2 foot X 3 foot mat, but I have yet to take it into game day. I think I will try for January, one more time to start over. |

I hope you can find your mojo again but I totally get the tired point. 2 hours seems to be the sweet spot for me for game length. |

Maybe a reboot is needed, good luck |

Plan your attendance as a half day. Just to add a little excitement to the game, you will command the reinforcements and they arrive when you do. That should make for a memorable greeting when you arrive. |

A two or three-hour game on a card table can be a very satisfying wargame. Ideally, the rules should be no more than both sides of a single piece of paper. But you'll have to check with your host about a suitable comfy chair. |

I still like the games but don't seem have the creativity for scenarios and campaigns as I once did. The compulsion to accumulate armies in my areas of interest remains but it should be a drive to divest instead. Gad, so much for the "Golden Years!" |

I attend the local convention, 60 miles up the road. I find it is nice to have a hotel room there so I can go hide for an hour or so when the noise and bustle get to me. I've decided to limit the rules I play so I can (hopefully) do a better job of remembering them. Grelber |
